What “The Golem” Is About:
Book Description
The story for this takes place a few years after the incidents that took place in “Abode of the Dead”. Alia marries Arran and they have twins, a boy and a girl through supernatural means. In spite of their desire to live in peace, they discover that the Queen Sherh-Shul never stops pursuing them because of her lost chance at immortality through drinking Arran’s blood.
To keep her children safe, Alia sends them into the mountains one day and they find their way to the Abode of the Dead, where they find a black clay statue that houses the body of a fifteen-foot giant. In ancient time, when the world was warmer, giants used to roam the world who were immortal and were the size of of small trees. Since they were an ancient race, had fair skin and white as ivory, golden hair and golden amber eyes. No one knew where they came from and the legend was that they were the offspring of the gods and ordinary men and women of much smaller size.
However, when the world grew colder and the flora shrank in size, and smaller humans evolved from small, ape-like creatures began to spread throughout the world. Less of the giants were born in each passing generation and in desperation a chief of these giants asked the World Mother through a shaman for an answer. The dire answer that was given was:
“The goddess says that she will not save your people. Yours is a dying race. Eventually all your people will perish. Either by war, or disease, or famine. There will ultimately be not a single white giant left in all the world, in a single generation.”
When asked what will cause the goddess to help them, the shaman pointed to men who preferred to be with men rather than seek a wife. This results in something like a holy war to eradicate the world of these individuals. Unfortunately the giant Etlu was one such giant. The story follows the life of Etlu as he leaves the village and journeys to the city of Kurgal where he meets Amenthas, a priest of Arraneth. A deity in black robes and a silvery mask, seemingly able to journey from the world of the gods to speak to his worshippers and priests. Arraneth is quite different from many other deities as he does not oppose the joining of beings of the same gender. Yet, for reasons unknown to Etlu and Amenthas he advises against their union.
“The Golem” is a tale that is the second book in the “Lord of Life” series that examines the issues of religions, spirituality, belief and homosexuality.
BACKGROUND:
In the last 5 years before the present, I became aware of a technique of mummification that I had not known before… apart from Egyptian, South American and various East Asian ( natural in South Korea, self-inflicted and very illegal in Japan and some startling examples from Ming China )
Owing to my strange career, I got to know the relative of a Thai witchdoctor… she told me that many aborted fetuses obtained from hospitals(yes, I am sorry to report, some hospitals are not scrupulous about disposing biologicals)… were often roasted over open fires in secret ceremonies.. the reason? It was to dry out the little body, cos as any person who studies mummification knows, moisture and fat = putrefaction… of the body… the Egyptian technique systematically eliminates the internal organs and moisture… for obvious reasons, a fetus is too small for the complicated Egyptian technique… thus roasting dries out the little fetus body and then it was molded into the figure of a child using clay… the live example I saw personally was of black clay… yes, I saw one of these hideous things… I was offered to purchase it by the seller… as a matter of ethics (not to promote this trade) and cos it was too WTF for me personally… I refused so I could not break it and check for the presence of the fetus…
However, I went to another place where similar amulets were sold.. and I was told by the owner he had a bona fide certification attesting the presence of human DNA in the artefact. He of course did not have a cert with Carbon- 14 dating to affirm the artefact is at least 100 years old .. cos it would be too expensive. This thing is only found in a place where many Thai gather… so now you know what I say is true.. if you come to Singapore, ask for “little Thailand” and you will know where they are…
Why have a human being inside a clay body? Cos every properly educated occultist knows, no human soul = the golem dun work. (I call it ‘ golem’ cos I cannot use the proper Thai name… i might do it if the book is translated) a spirit is not easy to obtain, I mean, there is no jinn to capture and capture of a natural spirit from the sea or forest is difficult and dangerous, aborted fetuses are easier)… there are only two ways. grave robbing or abortions. There is a traditional Chinese magical practice that makes use of bones from the grave. It is also WTF and you can see it in Hong Kong at street fortune telling stores/tables…
Years ago I saw a tiny stone coffin sold by an antique dealer in SIngapore.. I wondered about it. Then I found out from a man who was trained in the tradition.. He explained to me that the grave robber would chop off a finger from the deceased and keep the bone in the tiny coffin. The ghost can be summoned from the bone. Apparently a famous casino owner in China/Macau has 12 of them.. this is rumour whispered to me by a source..(so sorry I cannot give the person’s name + age + profession…)
Yes, this form of necromancy is active in East Asia and common in casinos.. to find out the culprits, ask any SIngaporean… they will whisper it to you, but won’t go on the record… It is not hard to find these people, you just have to hang out at the right places.
or talk to the Thai police… if you remember my blog post, I had an an encounter with one of these “golems” two years ago… it almost killed my tailor… I sort of scolded him and he did the proper disposal of the thing and miraculously survived… the docs were amazed by his sudden recovery…
